2013 Life Challenge: Live Life Fully Committed.

Life Verse: 2 Chronicles 16:9, “The eyes of the LORD search the entire earth, seeking hearts that are fully committed to Him that He may strengthen them.”

2013 is the year where you either choose to keep doing the same thing (that didn’t work before), or you choose to live life fully committed to what God has placed in front of you.

So what is a Life Accountability Partner?

A Life Accountability Partner is someone who you share life with. It’s someone who you agree to get real with, about all areas of your life, in order to be held accountable. Think about it. How many times do we make dreams and set goals, only to throw them by the wayside because no one really knows about them anyway, so who cares?! Right?

I challenge you to go into 2013 with a new mindset. Pray about it. Then ask God to bring you that person you can confide in. Ask God to bring you that person who you can share life with. And if He leads you, {In Pursuit} would love to take the journey with you.

What is the Live Life Fully Committed Challenge?

The Live Life Fully Committed Challenge is a call of action for women to stop living sloppy, half-hearted lives. It’s a call for women to live lives with an attitude of resolve and commitment, not to a plan, not to a set goal. Instead, it’s a call to live life with a heart fully committed to God.

In doing so, each area of your life will begin to operate in excellence. You will no longer make excuses for why you don’t do what you know you should do. You will no longer procrastinate. Laziness will no longer control your life.

And the best part of it all? God promises to provide the strength you need, making it impossible for you to remain stagnant. Transformation is bound to happen and your life and the life of those around you will be greatly impacted.

So let me ask, are you living life fully committed?

If not, would you like to join me for the 2013 Live Life Fully Committed Challenge?

Here are a few questions for you to sit down with God and go through. And let me just preface this by saying that these are not easy questions to answer yes to. It can seem overwhelming to see all the areas where we are not giving God even 50% of our energy and attention.

These questions serve as a guideline. They are not set in stone and you may find that you are already faithful in some areas, while others still need some attention. That’s okay. You might also find that God leads you to another area not listed on here. That’s fine as well.

The point of this exercise is to look at ourselves and get real about where we are and what changes we want to make.

We can’t expect to walk in the abundance of God for our lives if we’re being sloppy with our Christian walk, our health, our family, our ministry, and many other areas.

So if you dare, let’s start the confrontation. Go ahead and click on the link below. Then join me tomorrow as we prepare for a year of change!

  1. My pastor and friend wrote a book called “Living SENT” and it’s all about the “backwards” life for Jesus. It is often viewed as backwards when we live fully committed but the joy experienced is really hard to explain.
Keep encouraging others to live full out Darlene. We walk that path together.
    Blessings,
    Heather

    • Heather thank you for stopping by {In Pursuit}! I can attest that there is true joy experienced when we begin to live life fully committed. I have also seen, that most days it’s not about a feeling, but about choosing joy by faith. Looking forward to seeing what this looked like in our lives at the end of the year. Believing that God will use it to take us out of our comfort zones.

      Blessings,

      Darlene

      • Yes me too! Since I started my life fully “backwards” all out for Jesus years ago my joy is amazing!! Even in times of trial. Surpassing all understanding.

I look forward to getting into your blog more. May I share mine with you?

Did we connect via my Allume article prior to this? Your beautiful face in your pic was on something I did recently. A comment maybe? I’ve doubly connected with others too. We keep “meeting” on here!

        Heather

      • Heather, the name of your blog definitely sounds familiar. I am sure we’ve crossed paths before somewhere on this online world 🙂 So blessed to hear what God is doing in your life and about the book writing…read that on your blog 😉
Praying God’s favor over your life and may you continue to impact lives with your story.

      • Thanks for your dear heart and prayers. 🙂 I just breathe in, write, and let Him work. So I truly appreciate your prayer for the books. May the bring Glory to my Jesus.

  2. Ooooh! That questionnaire uncovered some “holes”. I’ve been letting things slide a bit since I’ve been struggling with pain off and on. No excuse on good days!

    • Teresa, I know what you mean about the questionnaire uncovering some “holes”. And I love what you said about putting ‘no excuses on good days!’

That’s such a great way of putting it. That’s kind of how I felt today about working out. I committed to 30 minutes M-F, and I’ve stuck to it since December 2012. Yesterday and today, I’ve been sick so I did not get my workout. However, rather than carry guilt, I am okay with it because I can see all the checkmarks for work-outs done when I was not sick.

Thanks for sharing. Join us in 2013, as we cover some ‘holes’ together 😉

      • I love your balanced approach – it’s not about perfection (or obsession), it’s doing our best and accepting things the way they are. Good for you – and I hope you feel better soon.

  3. Great post. God dealt with me last week. I know I have not given all areas of my life to him.

    Blessings~
    Alethea

    • Blessings Alethea. I know what you mean. I’ve been {In Pursuit} of the abundant life God has for me for the past two years and boy has it been an amazing journey. Yet in November, I felt God causing me to pay attention to areas left unattended. Let me just say, OUCH!

However, once I got past the initial sting of it all, I got excited. Why? Because if God is calling me to pay attention to certain areas of my life, it’s because those parts are a part of His amazing plan. That alone is enough to make me say, ‘yes Lord!’.

Join me for the 2013 challenge, we’re going to be taking it one step at a time. That Questionnaire may seem daunting, but I promise, you will soon get excited about living the abundant life God has for you.

P.S. The true test is standing in December of 2013 and looking back at this year…. does living life fully committed really change anything? I guess we’ll have to go on this journey together and see 😉

  4. Are you fully committed in growing, learning, and studying to make yourself approved?
I don’t fully understand the question. Can you elaborate?

    • Rachel, great question. I’ve learned throughout the years that we don’t know anything, 🙂 When it comes to our Christian walk, we are so young and we will continue to learn until the day we die. Sometimes it can be easy to lean on what we think we know, rather than digging into the Scriptures and finding out for ourselves. When I first came to the Lord, it was really easy to share the gospel, based on what I heard in church. But my talk was shallow and had no foundation because unless we go into God’s word ourselves and find out what God is saying, we don’t really know what we’re talking about.

And even when we do read Scripture, we need to get in prayer asking God to illuminate that word to us, to give us understanding, and to open our eyes to his truth and to any deception we’ve been holding onto.

As Christians we must desire to get close to God. We must desire to know His will for our lives. And that, my friend, doesn’t happen by attending an awesome service and getting a prophetic word. Many people go around not knowing the will of God for their lives because they are waiting for a preacher to tell them.

I say, open up your Bible… learn, grow, study so that you can know for yourself what God says. God’s will is written all over those pages. If we diligently search the Scriptures, we can live lives like 2 Timothy 2:15 talks about. Lives where we are unashamed because we are correctly handling the word of truth. We are correctly teaching it to our children. We are correctly sharing it with others. We are correctly living it out.

Here are some different translations that are helpful:

2 Timothy 2:15,(NIV) says, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

The New Living Translation: “Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”

The Message Translation: “Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won’t be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple.”

I’m not talking about living perfect lives. We are all imperfect. I’m talking about truly desiring to honor God and therefore searching our how His word tells us to live. I hope that helps. Also doing a study/ search on 2 Timothy 2:15 will give you even further info.
