Won’t you join us?

Yesterday we talked about freedom from The Curse. Read about that {here}.

When it comes to our domains, our sinfulness can get in the way. We can be so lazy and so selfish. We procrastinate and put things off. We can get careless and walk with an attitude of complaint.

Getting organized is not the hard part. Anybody can read a good book on cleaning, make a cleaning plan, and walah… clean house.

As a matter of fact, if you need some tips and ideas, feel free to search through our HOME MANAGEMENT archives. Anyone can learn the skills necessary to manage a home. That’s the easy part.

The hard part is learning to deal with the emotions and sin that keep us from doing what we have to do. The hard part is bringing our lazy and selfish selves to the task at hand.

If we’re going to walk in the victory God’s given us in Christ Jesus, then we have to get real with the sinful areas that hold us back.

What Does That Look Like?

  • Slothfulness
  • Laziness
  • Sloppiness/Carelessness
  • Discontentment
  • Selfishness
  • Pride
  • The need for approval
  • Fill in the blank ______

Walking In Victory Requires:

  • Getting real with ourselves.
  • Getting real with God.
  • Walking in our God-given identities.
  • Understanding that our reward comes from the Lord, not from man.

Managing our homes is not the problem. Our heart issues are the problem.

Let’s stop there today. Let’s get real, both with ourselves and with God. Then let’s live out the truth of God’s word. Jesus already overcame. If we can understand we already have the victory, we can move in our homes with that same confidence.

You can bring order to your home.

You can overcome slothfulness, laziness, procrastination, selfishness, discontentment, pride, the need for approval, and every other ‘fill in the blank‘ there is.

You can gain true joy in the midst of your serving.

You can walk in the victory that’s already yours.

I’m an overcomer! How about you?

Today’s Challenge (from 31 Days To Clean)

Mary Challenge: Think back to a time when God refined your character through difficult circumstances. Write it down and thank HIm for His faithfulness.

Martha Challenge:  Kitchen- clean out and organize your drawers.

  1. Outstanding post! Each of us needs to “get over ourselves,” and get on with the Lord’s business.

    2 Thessalonians 3:11-13

    King James Version (KJV)

11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
