“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”

Philippians 4:4

Choose Joy

Then there are days when life comes at you before you’ve even had your morning coffee or tea. These days are especially difficult for me. I need my morning quiet time. I need to sort through things with God first before I’m ready to pour out into my family.

I’m not sure what difficulty your family is facing. Perhaps it’s as simple as an alarm clock not going off in time. Or maybe it’s as difficult as a shut-off notice or a sick family member.

Whatever it is, I encourage you to choose joy. Count your blessings in spite of the circumstances. “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”

Today’s Challenge

Today’s challenge requires making a choice. We can’t control everything that comes at us. However, we can choose how we will respond.

Won’t you choose joy today?

Doing so will help us deal with the frustrations along the way without taking things out on them.

Doing so will help us be examples of what it’s like to live out our faith in the middle of hard times.

Doing so will help us enjoy our children, even when, especially when life gets hard.

Doing so will help us teach our children how to choose joy as well.

If we’re going to go {In Pursuit} of our children’s hearts, it will be important to choose joy.
