The Good, The Bad & The Ugly {He Wants In…}

It’s here, the end of February is finally here. I didn’t think I’d spend so much time on this part of the {Live Life Fully Committed} Challenge, but I guess that’s what happens when there’s so much to sort through.

There’s a message etched into my heart and I cannot run from it. It’s the message God’s been teaching me since the night I lay on the floor of the hotel suite crying my heart out.

He spoke it so clearly into my spirit, “Why won’t you let Me sit here with you? We don’t even have to talk. I just want to sit here with you.”

It’s such a simple, yet profound message, which gives us permission to grieve our losses. It allows us to feel the pain and hurt we feel through all the failures, all the setbacks, and all the disappointments.

It’s the simple message that allows us to come as we are, hearts hemorrhaging red, staining all we come in contact with. He loves us still.

God wants to do this amazing thing called ‘life’ with me. With you.

All our longings lie open and naked before Him. Our sighing is not hidden from Him (Psalm 38:9). He sees. He knows. He still loves.

He wraps us with an undeserving robe of Righteousness, covering all our sin. All of it, hidden in Christ. Forgiven.

And we are able to boldly come before the throne of grace and sit.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

Today I give you the same permission God gave me to grieve whatever loss I had gone through.

But don’t get stuck there, my friend. Dare to dream. Dare to believe. Dare to live {In Pursuit} of God’s abundance for your life.

This year we will be taking a closer look at our homes, our marriages, our children, our finances, our health, and more… but before we do…

Today’s Challenge:

  • Would you allow God to sit with you?
  • He knows the longings of your soul, are you willing to talk with Him about them?
  • Listing some of the categories above (Marriage, Parenting, etc.), what are your disappointments with them?
  • What do you want them to look like?

I know we don’t always get things right. And I know that sometimes we don’t even know how to change things. But as we move forward into other areas of our lives, will you first take today’s challenge?

Will you allow God to sit with you through the good, the bad, and the ugly?

He wants to. He wants to sort through the grime and the grit with us until all that remains is holiness.

Ready? If so, then join me tomorrow as we continue on this adventure of {Living Life Fully Committed}!
