{Changes, Changes. Write The Vision.} -Part 2

Alright, you’re back!

That’s great news. That means yesterday’s challenge didn’t scare you a bit (or maybe, you just want to see what’s ahead before you jump in, hmmm).

Well either way, yesterday we started talking about what changes we were willing to make…or at least, that’s where we were headed. If you need to go back and catch up, click {here}.

So where was it that we left off? Oh yeah, we were getting real with ourselves.

Ouch. That sometimes hurts. So go ahead and rub that sore spot. I know. This part is not fun at all.

But I promise you, if you can lean into the pain, and not allow it to stifle you, you will grow through this.

Okay, so you’ve confronted those things in your life that need attention A.S.A.P. Now what?

{Write Them Into Your Life}

That’s right. These areas that need changing need to be written into your daily life. How would it look?

  • Write the vision for your life and separate into sections (i.e. Spiritual Growth, Marriage, Family, Ministry, Dreams, Home, Career, etc.)
  • Pray and find an Accountability partner.
  • Set daily goals that will meet your vision statement.
  • Set deadlines/ dates for follow-up.

Spiritual Growth–  To further my growth in the Lord by establishing and maintaining daily spiritual disciplines, growing relationships in the Body of Christ, and serving in my local church.

  • Morning devotional time (prayer and Bible reading) 6 am.
  • Read a Psalm and prayer before bed.
  • Connect with sister _____. Encourage and pray for her. Confirm get-together by Oct. 16th.
  • Find possible service opportunity for the month of October, schedule it in calendar.

Health and Fitness– To live a healthy lifestyle in order to live the abundant life God has for me as well as to prepare this body for the work God has for me.

  • Pray. Pray. Pray. Mental/ Spiritual health starts here.
  • Healthy Goal Weight ___.
  • Lose 1-2 lbs.  a week, reach goal weight by February 2013.
  • Drink 5-8 glasses of water daily.
  • 30 minutes of exercise 3-5 times a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturday).
  • Meal planning incorporate more fruits and vegetables.
  • My Fitness Pal- track calories.
  • 10:00 bedtime.
  • Weekly check-ins with Accountability Partner.

Ok, there you have two examples. This will require changes and sacrifice. Nothing worth attaining has ever been easy to achieve.

So for today, we’re just writing things down. Let’s call it our {Vision Statement}.

Do you dare? Do you dare dream and believe about what a life surrendered to God looks like? You remember yesterday’s verse don’t you?

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Phil. 2:13

God is in this. Your desire to see lasting change comes from Him. There’s more friend. There’s more!

I’m chasing after it. I’m {In Pursuit} of all that God has for me on this side of heaven.

So if you dare move forward with your pen, your paper, and God (and me) cheering you on, then we’ll see you here tomorrow when we talk some more about how we will make CHANGES that will transform our lives.

I am excited! How about you?
