About two weeks ago, I wrote a post called Instant Attitude Adjustment. <—click here to review. Philippians 4:6-8 keeps going around in my head and last night as I lay in bed, I was reminded of the Attitude Adjustment post I wrote a few days ago. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I gave you Part 2 of the Instant Attitude Adjustment.
So bear with me a moment, while I share with you Part 1 of the Instant Attitude Adjustment.
Simply put, it’s this:
The trick of the enemy is to get us to think that God does not care about us and our situation. It is the enemy’s plan to come in-between the relationship you and God have. He works endlessly to bring anxiety, fear, doubt, worry, and the like– all of these feelings which say,
‘God you are not here. You don’t love me. You are not going to come through for me,’ Or ‘You just don’t care about me enough to’.
My friend, these thoughts are not aligned with God’s word.
If we are not careful, we keep playing these thoughts over and over until we believe them. Depression, anxiety, fear, doubt…. all of these begin to consume us.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
It is God’s desire that we come to Him with our worries and concerns. That’s why He says ‘be anxious about nothing’. Do you think that God doesn’t understand your situation? Do you think your situation is too big for God to take care of?
Again, ‘be anxious about nothing’.
Instead, in everything, come to God in prayer and supplication. He wants you to make your requests known to Him. He wants you to let it all out to Him. You are safe in His Presence. You are safe in His care. Nothing you are going through is going to shock Him. Nothing you say to Him is going to make Him love you any less. He desires to speak with you. He cares about what you’re going through.
To help you out with this, I’ve created a worksheet. It’s self explanatory and it contains both Part 1 and 2 of the Instant Attitude Adjustment. I pray that it will be a helpful tool in your life as you learn to surrender it all to God trusting in His perfect love and plan for your life!
Be strengthened, be encouraged and know that God is good and He is good over your life.
