{SUN-ROOM/ MUDROOM}

It is Day 4 of our {6 Days To An Organized Home} challenge. By now you should be just as excited as I am to see your house gaining some type of order!! I applaud you for sticking around and encourage you to move forward. We are  more than halfway through. By the end of this week you will be able to sit and relax with a cup of coffee and tea and be oh-so-glad you put in the hard work! I promise you… You won’t regret it!

So far our cleaning list looks like this:

My Cleaning List:

  • Sun-room/ Mudroom
  • Linen Closet/Bathroom
  • Bedrooms

So here we go with Day 4…

{SUN-ROOM/ MUDROOM}

Toss and Purge:

  • Broken items.
  • Stained items.

Donate:

  • Items that are in good condition but serve no purpose for your family.
  • Duplicate items you rarely use.
  • Anything that sits around picking up dust that you don’t even enjoy.

Sort and Organize:

  • Clear paperwork, mail, books, magazines, etc.
  • Remove items that don’t belong in the Sun-Room/ Mudroom.
  • Set up a key holder to sort all your keys or designate a small tray for keys.
  • Set a rubber tray or basket to collect shoes at the doorway.
  • Place a bin, large vase or umbrella holder for umbrellas.
  • Move extra items like chairs, folding tables, games to different rooms where they will serve their purpose.

Closet: 

  • Have family members take their extra shoes and non-clothing items out (to be put in proper home).
  • Donate coats, hats, gloves that your family no longer uses.
  • Pack seasonal items.
  • Put cleaning supplies in the closet or cupboard.
  • Attach clothes pins to coat hangers for gloves and hats.

Dusting and Wiping:

  • Dust tables.
  • Wipe down chairs.
  • Dust all decorating items including wall décor.
  • Clean mirrors and glass.
  • Put everything back in its proper place.

Walls and Windows:

  • Wipe down walls.
  • Wipe down baseboards.
  • Wash windows.
  • Wipe down window sills.
  • Wipe down blinds.
  • Wash curtains
  • Dust/Wipe Light Fixtures/ Ceiling Fans.

Floors:

  • Sweep floors.
  • Vacuum Carpet/Rugs
  • Mop floors.

Now It’s Your Turn!!

Alright so there you have it. The Sun-Room/ Mudroom cleaning and organizing list has been broken down as best as I could. Now it’s your turn to go out there and get to work! I know it seems like an overwhelming task, that’s why I’ve broken it down into sections. Take out your pencil if you have to then start checking off as you go. Put on some jams in the background (pray for strength, {smile}) and then get to work.
