{The "B" Word}

For years this has been a taboo subject. I mean, who wants to talk about finances? Turning a blind eye to what comes in and out makes it less painful. Right?

For starters, how we handle our finances has a lot to do with out relationship with God. Don’t believe me? Check out the Scriptures. According to Howard Dayton from Crown Financial Ministries, “More than 2,350 verses address Gods’ way of handling money and possessions.”

Wow! That’s a whole lotta’ word regarding finances. It’s time to dig deeper. It’s time to really look at what God has to say. And more than just looking, it’s time to begin to apply it.

In a world where materialism takes first reign, it is not easy (or even popular) to do things ‘God’s way’! However, if you know anything about me, you’d know I’m not interested in being ‘popular‘.

Simply stated, I am {In Pursuit} of an abundant life in Christ… whether I have a cheering crowd, or not!

And so, I would like to introduce you to one of the Christian financial ministries which has been such a blessing to my husband and I.

Crown Financial Ministries

Their website has some awesome tools to help you on your financial journey. Looking for calculators? The Crown Financial website has everything you need (budgeting calculators, spending plan calculators, credit card calculators, debt calculators, acceleration debt payoff calculators, mortgage calculators and so much more!)

One of my favorite tools from this site is The Crown Money Map. Have you ever felt like the road to financial freedom was a hazardous road with many dead ends or sudden falls of a cliff? I hear you! For those of us who have not been taught, managing our money can seem like a nightmare.

The Crown Money Map is awesome because it gives you step by step directions toward financial freedom. It gives you 7 destinations to travel through. Each destination gives you a goal date, a celebration upon completion of each destination, and tools to help you be successful on the journey.

Here’s an example of Destination 1:

Emergency Savings

1.) download a free Crown Spending Plan (budget) on the Crown website.

2.) Save $1000 for Emergencies.

Scripture Memory Verse: “The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.” (Proverbs 21:20 TLB)

Okay- so how easy is that? They’ve outlined step one for you. I love the way they tell me where to start and how to start.

Fund my Emergency Plan, I can do that!

So how about you? Are you ready to begin your journey to financial freedom? If so, don’t forget to stop by the Crown Financial website for your free tools/ resources. I am so sure you will not regret taking this step.

We are simply stewards of what God has placed in our hands. That includes our homes, our vehicles, our jobs, everything. It’s time we begin to handle our money, and our possessions, God’s way!

So here we go. We are {In Pursuit} of God’s abundance in our lives… Financial freedom, here we come!
